ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "CardioBreathApp vs IMT in Heart Failure" is studying the effects of two different breathing exercises on patients with heart failure, a condition where the heart doesn't pump blood as well as it should. The main goal is to compare a new app called CardioBreath, which helps with slow breathing exercises, to a well-known method called Inspiratory Muscle Training (IMT) to see which one is better for improving patients’ breathing and heart health.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 40 and 70 years old, have heart failure with a specific heart function measurement (ejection fraction less than 40%), and have access to a mobile device with internet. The trial is currently looking for patients who are not actively smoking, have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, and do not have certain other health conditions. If you join, you can expect to engage in either breathing exercise program and help researchers understand how these techniques can benefit heart failure patients. Your participation could contribute valuable information that might help improve treatment options for others in the future.
