ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of vitamin D supplements on patients with acne vulgaris, a common skin condition that causes pimples and blemishes. The main goal is to see if adding vitamin D to standard acne treatments, which include a capsule called Azithromycin and a topical retinoid cream, can help improve skin outcomes after two months of treatment. Researchers want to find out if this combination is more effective than just using the usual treatments alone.
To participate in the trial, individuals need to be between the ages of 13 and 40 and have been diagnosed with acne vulgaris. However, those who have certain conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome, are obese, or are taking other vitamin supplements or steroid treatments within the last two months are not eligible. If you join the study, you will receive vitamin D along with the standard acne medications and will help researchers understand if this addition makes a difference in treating acne. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and both males and females can apply.
