ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new approach to help women with chronic pelvic pain caused by endometriosis, especially those preparing for surgery. The researchers want to see if a short mindfulness program, which teaches patients how to stay calm and manage pain, can be easily offered before surgery and if patients find it helpful. They will enroll between 10 and 20 women who are 18 years or older, speak English, and are scheduled for surgery to treat endometriosis. Participants will either receive the mindfulness training along with their usual treatment or just the usual treatment and education.
If you decide to participate, you will be part of a study that aims to improve how women cope with pain and stress related to their surgery. The goal is to gather information that could lead to larger studies in the future. It's important to note that if you have had formal mindfulness training before or cannot agree to participate, you won’t be eligible for this study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it could offer valuable insights into managing pain and improving surgical outcomes for women living with endometriosis.
