ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new ultrasound technique called Super Resolution ultrasound imaging of Erythrocytes (SURE) to better understand small blood vessels in tendons, particularly in people with tendon injuries known as tendinopathy. The researchers want to find out if this method can accurately detect tiny blood vessels, gather important information about blood flow, and tell the difference between blood flow in injured tendons compared to healthy ones.

To join the study, participants should be between 18 and 70 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) below 30, and be able to lie still for about a minute. Unfortunately, those who are pregnant, smoke, have diabetes, or have had other significant injuries to the tendon cannot participate. Participants will receive a non-invasive ultrasound examination of either their Achilles tendon (near the heel) or patellar tendon (near the knee) using a special high-frequency ultrasound machine. This research could help improve diagnosis and treatment options for tendon injuries in the future.
