ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects the blood and overall health of children. Specifically, it's studying changes in the complete blood count, which helps to check for anemia and other blood conditions, as well as how well the blood is clotting and the levels of iron in the body. The trial will focus on children aged 1 to 18 who have CKD in its more advanced stages (stage 3 to 5), which means their kidneys are not working as well as they should be.
To participate in this study, children need to be between 1 and 18 years old and have CKD stage 3 to 5. Unfortunately, children with earlier stages of CKD, liver disease, known blood disorders other than anemia, certain cancers, or recent bleeding problems will not be eligible. The trial is not actively recruiting participants yet, so parents and guardians should stay tuned for updates if they think their child might qualify. If involved, participants will undergo tests to monitor their blood and health, which can provide valuable information for better understanding CKD in children.
