ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of two different treatments—adrenaline and tranexamic acid—used to prevent bleeding during a procedure called diagnostic bronchoscopy. This procedure allows doctors to look inside the lungs and take samples for tests. Bleeding can sometimes happen during this procedure, and while major bleeding is rare, it can be very serious. The goal of the study is to see if using these treatments beforehand can help reduce the chances of bleeding during the bronchoscopies.

To participate in this trial, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and scheduled for a diagnostic bronchoscopy that involves taking samples. You will also need to provide signed consent to participate. However, if you have certain medical conditions, such as blood clotting disorders, severe anemia, or are on specific blood-thinning medications, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive either adrenaline or tranexamic acid before your bronchoscopy and be monitored for any bleeding during the procedure. This study is currently recruiting participants, so there is an opportunity to contribute to important research that could improve patient care in the future.
