ClinConnect Summary

The EnCoRe MoMS trial is focused on improving the safety and care of pregnant people who may experience maternal sepsis, a serious infection that can lead to severe health issues and even death. This study aims to create and evaluate a special safety program for mothers during and after childbirth, particularly targeting those from underserved communities who are at higher risk. The trial will take place at four hospitals in New York City, and it will involve discussions with hospital staff as well as analyzing health records of mothers who delivered at these hospitals between 2021 and 2025.

To be eligible for the trial, participants must be 18 years or older and either work as clinicians or staff at one of the participating hospitals or be a birthing person whose delivery took place at one of these hospitals during the specified time. Participants can expect to take part in focus group discussions or, for birthing persons, have their health records reviewed to help researchers understand and improve care related to maternal sepsis. It’s important to note that the trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to engage communities to enhance the healthcare experience for mothers facing this serious condition.
