ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to improve the diagnosis of thyroid nodules, which are lumps in the thyroid gland that can be cancerous or non-cancerous. The researchers are comparing two different scoring methods to see which one better helps determine whether a nodule is likely to be cancerous. They will use a special type of ultrasound that highlights blood flow, along with standard ultrasound and a procedure that takes a sample from the nodule for testing.
To participate in this trial, individuals must have at least one thyroid nodule that is 5 millimeters or larger and must undergo all three types of tests mentioned. They will be included if they have a clear diagnosis of either benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous) nodules. Participants can expect to undergo these tests in a supportive environment, and their results will help improve future thyroid cancer diagnoses. It's important to note that this study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into the best ways to assess thyroid nodules.
