ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how common chronic rhinosinusitis (a long-term condition affecting the sinuses) is in people who have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. The researchers aim to understand how this sinus condition affects the quality of life for IBD patients and whether it impacts their response to treatments. They will also look at signs of damage in the body’s protective barriers by collecting blood and stool samples, and examine tissue samples from patients to see how the two conditions may be related.

To participate in this study, individuals must be between 18 and 70 years old and have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis for at least three months. They should be willing to participate and be able to understand the study’s requirements. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it will be conducted at a specialized clinic for chronic inflammatory bowel disease. By joining, participants can contribute to valuable research that may improve understanding and treatment of both chronic rhinosinusitis and IBD.
