ClinConnect Summary
The VALUE Trial is a research study that is looking at a medication called Losartan to see how well it works in treating high blood pressure and heart changes in people who have had a specific heart condition known as coarctation of the aorta. This condition involves a narrowing of the aorta, which can cause high blood pressure. The study aims to understand how Losartan helps improve heart health in these patients.
To participate in the trial, you must be at least 18 years old and have had a previous repair for coarctation of the aorta. You also need to have a specific range of blood pressure readings. However, certain conditions may prevent you from joining, such as being pregnant, having severe heart valve problems, or taking certain heart medications. If you decide to participate, you will be helping researchers learn more about how this treatment could benefit others with similar heart issues. The study is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome to apply.
