ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to treat painful finger joints affected by osteoarthritis, a condition that causes joint pain and stiffness. The researchers are specifically studying a device called the Kerifuse, which is used during a procedure known as arthrodesis. This procedure helps to fuse two bones in the finger joint together, which can relieve pain and improve function. The main goal of the trial is to see how quickly the bones fuse together when using the Kerifuse device compared to other methods.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have osteoarthritis that requires this type of surgery on their finger joints. However, certain people cannot join, including those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have severe infections, or are allergic to materials in the device. Participants in the trial will receive the Kerifuse implant during their surgery and will be monitored to track their recovery and the healing of their joint. This study aims to improve treatment options for patients suffering from painful finger joints.
