ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how well a device called a membrane lung works for patients receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in high-altitude areas. ECMO is a treatment used to support patients with serious breathing or heart problems when other treatments haven't worked. The researchers want to find out if the lower oxygen levels typically found at high altitudes affect the membrane lung's ability to take in oxygen and remove carbon dioxide compared to patients in low-altitude areas.

To participate in this trial, you must be receiving ECMO support. However, some people may not be eligible if they cannot provide necessary blood tests, are pregnant, cannot take blood-thinning medications, or choose not to join the study. If you decide to participate, you'll help researchers better understand how ECMO works in different environments, which may improve care for future patients.
