ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how correcting a specific neck posture, often called "nerd neck," can help people who have jaw problems known as temporomandibular disorder (TMD). The main goal is to find out if fixing this neck posture can reduce jaw pain and improve jaw function for those experiencing both issues. Participants in the study will be randomly assigned to different treatment groups and will receive care over a period of six weeks. After this time, they will return for an assessment to see if their jaw symptoms have improved.
To participate, individuals should be between 65 and 74 years old and have been diagnosed with TMD, along with having a forward head posture. They should be experiencing mild to moderate pain or difficulty moving their jaw. However, people who have had surgeries on their jaw or neck, or who have experienced serious injuries to those areas, cannot join the study. This trial is currently recruiting participants at the University of Sharjah's dental clinic, and it offers a chance to potentially find better ways to manage jaw pain and improve jaw movement.
