ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to close a type of surgical opening called a stoma. The researchers want to see if using a special mesh material to reinforce the closure helps reduce problems like hernias (bulges that can happen at the surgery site), infections, and pain after surgery, compared to a more traditional method of closing the stoma.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 16 years old, in good health to receive anesthesia, and have certain types of temporary stomas. However, if you have an end stoma (a permanent opening) or an infected stoma, you wouldn't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to be monitored for any issues after your surgery and to help contribute to important research that could improve care for future patients. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into the best practices for stoma closure.
