ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a specific breathing exercise, called static apnea, affects pain levels and the body's heart and lung function. In this study, healthy adults will practice holding their breath for six minutes at a low lung volume to see if it helps reduce pain sensitivity (hypoalgesia). Researchers are also interested in how this exercise impacts cardiovascular (heart-related) and respiratory (breathing-related) responses.
To participate, you need to be a healthy adult between the ages of 18 and 64 who does not have any serious health issues, such as heart or lung problems, or a history of conditions like epilepsy. If you are pregnant or taking medication, you won't be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in the breathing exercise and will be monitored for its effects on their body. This study is currently recruiting participants, so if you meet the criteria and are interested, you could contribute to understanding how breathing techniques might influence pain and body function.
