ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a treatment called injection laryngoplasty affects voice quality and swallowing in patients who have a condition known as glottal insufficiency, which means there is a gap in the vocal cords that can lead to problems with speaking and swallowing. The treatment involves injecting a substance called hyaluronic acid into the vocal cords to help improve their function. Researchers will check how patients are doing at 1, 3, and 6 months after the procedure.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 65 and 74 years old and have issues with your voice (called dysphonia), which may include difficulty swallowing. You should also have been experiencing these problems for at least 1-2 months. However, if you have certain health issues, like severe heart problems or active throat cancer, you won't be able to take part. If you do join the study, you can expect follow-up visits to monitor your progress and see how the treatment is helping your voice and swallowing abilities.
