ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "My Symptoms" is focused on helping people who experience persistent physical symptoms (PPS) that can affect their daily lives and overall well-being. This program is part of a larger research effort to improve treatment options for these symptoms, which often don’t get enough attention in regular doctor visits. The trial involves a web-based self-help program that is prescribed by participating general practitioners (GPs) who have completed a special training course. The goal is to see how well this new treatment is adopted by both GPs and patients, and to evaluate its effects on their health and the healthcare system.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be between the ages of 18 and 65 and must have ongoing symptoms that require attention. They should be registered with a participating GP practice. Unfortunately, individuals with acute (short-term) symptoms, those who need surgery or medication for their symptoms, or those with serious other health issues will not be able to join the study. Participants can expect to receive support from the web-based program, along with guidance from their GP, as they work towards managing their symptoms better. This trial not only aims to help individuals but also seeks to improve how healthcare providers can support patients with persistent symptoms in the future.
