ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on testing a new tool called "Deglut'G" that helps quickly identify swallowing disorders, also known as dysphagia, in elderly patients. Swallowing disorders can make it difficult for older people to eat and drink, which can lead to serious health issues, including choking or aspiration (food entering the lungs). By validating this tool, healthcare providers hope to improve care for older adults by catching swallowing problems early and making necessary adjustments to their diets and medications.

To participate in this study, individuals must be 75 years or older and currently hospitalized in the Geriatric Short-Stay Unit. They need to be able to understand the study and give their consent to participate. Participants can expect to undergo simple assessments using the "Deglut'G" tool, which will be compared to more detailed evaluations done by specialists. This trial is important because it aims to enhance the quality of care for older adults, ensuring they can eat safely and comfortably.
