ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the risk factors for low platelet counts, known as thrombocytopenia, in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who are on hemodialysis. Thrombocytopenia can happen for several reasons in these patients, including the effects of their kidney disease, blood loss during treatment, infections, and the medications used during dialysis. The trial aims to understand how these factors interact and contribute to the condition, especially since low platelet counts can lead to increased bleeding risks.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be between 18 and 70 years old, have been on hemodialysis for more than six months, and have a platelet count below a certain level. However, people with severe liver disease, certain blood disorders, or recent kidney injuries won't be eligible. If you qualify, you can expect to contribute to important research that could help improve the understanding and treatment of thrombocytopenia in patients with CKD. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be more information available as it begins.
