ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a program called the Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP-1), which aims to help parents who have struggled with substance use, including alcohol and drugs, especially during pregnancy. The goal of the program is to see if it can prevent families from needing foster care, support parents in their recovery, connect them with community resources, and protect future children from being exposed to drugs and alcohol. The trial will involve 40 parents with children under 6 years old who live near Enid or Oklahoma City, OK. They will receive one year of services through PCAP-1, while comparing their outcomes to a control group using existing data.
To be eligible, participants need to be over 18 years old, be a parent of a young child living with them, and not be incarcerated at the time of enrollment. This program is designed to be sensitive to the needs of low-income families and aims to improve the overall well-being of both parents and children. If you or someone you know might be interested, it’s important to note that the trial is not recruiting participants just yet, but it has strong support from local agencies to help families in need.
