ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how we can better predict the health outcomes for older adults who are admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Specifically, researchers want to understand how certain biological markers—things that can be measured in the body—might help predict whether these patients will survive their ICU stay and how well they will function afterward. The study is focused on patients who are 60 years old and above, and it aims to improve care for elderly individuals in critical situations.
If you or a loved one is 60 or older and is being admitted to the ICU for the first time at a hospital, you may be eligible to participate in this study. Participants will be asked to provide information and undergo tests related to their health. This research is important because it could lead to better support and treatment for older patients, helping doctors make more informed decisions during critical care and after discharge.
