ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring whether providing extra amino acids right after surgery can help women who are critically ill recover better and faster. Specifically, it focuses on women who have undergone a cesarean section and may need to stay in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for close monitoring. The researchers believe that giving these women essential proteins in the first couple of days after surgery could improve their recovery process.
To participate in this trial, women must be critically ill and have had a cesarean section, with or without a hysterectomy, and need ICU care. However, certain health issues may prevent someone from joining, such as severe heart or kidney problems, allergies to specific substances, or uncontrolled diabetes. If eligible, participants can expect to receive a special amino acid supplement along with their regular care, and the team will monitor their recovery closely. This trial is important because it may help improve the recovery experience for women facing serious health challenges after childbirth.
