ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how Multiple Sclerosis (MS) affects hearing in patients. Researchers will conduct several tests to assess hearing abilities, including tests that measure how well participants can hear different sounds and understand speech. They will also collect spinal fluid to look for signs of inflammation, which may relate to hearing issues. The goal is to see if there is a connection between the hearing test results and the findings from the spinal fluid analysis.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be between 18 and 50 years old, have a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson's Disease, and should not have any history of hearing loss or certain medical conditions like heart disease or diabetes. Participants will undergo auditory tests and a lumbar puncture, which is a procedure to collect spinal fluid. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it could help improve our understanding of hearing problems in people with MS, potentially leading to better care and treatment options in the future.
