ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of bovine colostrum, a natural supplement derived from cow's milk, to help prevent recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in children. Recurrent UTIs can be painful and disruptive, and the trial aims to determine if this supplement can be a safe and effective way to reduce the frequency of these infections, especially as some bacteria are becoming resistant to traditional antibiotics.
To participate, children must have a history of recurrent UTIs, which means they have had either two or more infections with serious symptoms or three or more milder infections. Unfortunately, children with allergies to the supplement, certain urinary devices, or urinary stones cannot take part. If eligible, participants will receive the bovine colostrum supplement and will be monitored for its effectiveness and safety throughout the study. This trial is important because it explores new options for preventing UTIs, which can greatly improve the quality of life for affected children and their families.
