ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to compare two different medications—magnesium sulfate and dexamethasone—when added to a local anesthetic called bupivacaine during a specific type of pain management technique known as a TAP block. This study focuses on women who are undergoing a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, which is a surgery to remove the uterus. The goal is to see which medication helps patients feel less pain after surgery and how satisfied they are with their pain relief.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be women aged between 35 and 70 years who are generally healthy and scheduled for the surgery mentioned. However, there are some reasons that might prevent someone from participating, such as having certain health conditions, refusing to join the study, or having allergies to the medications involved. If you participate, you can expect to receive one of the two medications in addition to the local anesthetic, and researchers will monitor your pain levels, any side effects, and your overall satisfaction with the pain relief you receive after the surgery.
