ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether listening to music during surgery can help reduce inflammation in patients undergoing liver donation surgery, known as donor hepatectomy. Researchers believe that music might help lower pain, anxiety, and stress that can occur during and after the surgery, which could lead to a better recovery for patients.
To join the study, patients must be between the ages of 65 and 75 and be scheduled for donor hepatectomy. They should be in good health according to a specific medical classification and able to give consent for participation. If accepted, participants will listen to music while undergoing surgery and be monitored for any changes in their body’s inflammatory response. It's important to note that patients with certain medical conditions or sensitivities to medications can't participate. Overall, this trial aims to explore a simple, non-drug approach to improve surgical experiences and outcomes for liver donors.
