ClinConnect Summary
The PATH Trial is a research study aimed at finding out if adding online yoga classes to an Internet-based weight loss program can help people lose more weight than participating in health and wellness classes alone. Everyone in the study will start with a 12-month online weight loss program. After the first three months, participants will be randomly assigned to either join yoga classes or health and wellness classes for the next nine months. Throughout the study, researchers will check in with participants at different times to measure their weight, eating habits, physical activity, and overall well-being.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be adults aged 18 to 75 with a body mass index (BMI) between 25 and 40, which indicates overweight to moderately obese. They also need to have a smartphone and access to the Internet at home. However, individuals who are currently pregnant, have recently lost a significant amount of weight, or have certain medical conditions that may prevent them from safely participating in yoga or exercise may not qualify. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it offers a chance to explore new ways to support weight loss in a convenient online format.
