ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring whether listening to music during a bone marrow biopsy or aspiration can help reduce anxiety for patients undergoing these procedures. The study is designed to see if adding passive music to the experience makes a difference in how anxious patients feel compared to those who do not listen to music. Music therapy is known to help with stress and pain relief, and this trial aims to understand its effectiveness in a medical setting.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a blood-related condition that requires a bone marrow biopsy or aspiration. You should be able to read English or have someone assist you with the study materials. However, individuals with hearing impairments, those who will be sedated during the procedure, or those who are unwilling to listen to music cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to listen to music during your procedure, which may help you feel calmer and more comfortable. This trial is currently looking for participants, so if you think this might be suitable for you, please consider reaching out for more information.
