ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different types of surgery for children with adenoid hypertrophy, which is when the adenoids (small glands in the back of the throat) become enlarged and block the airway. The researchers want to find out whether a partial adenoidectomy (removing only part of the adenoids) or a total adenoidectomy (removing all of the adenoids) is better for reducing symptoms like nasal blockage and how often the problem comes back after surgery.
To participate in this trial, children must be diagnosed with adenoid hypertrophy that is causing issues with breathing. However, some children may not be eligible if they have specific conditions, like cleft palate, serious health issues that could affect the surgery, or certain craniofacial abnormalities. If eligible, participants can expect to receive one of the two types of surgery and will be monitored to see how well it works in improving their symptoms and whether the problem recurs. This study is currently recruiting patients, and all genders are welcome to participate.
