ClinConnect Summary
The Smoke-free Home Study in Subsidized Housing is looking at how to help people living in subsidized housing stop smoking and make their homes smoke-free. The goal is to find ways to encourage more homes to adopt smoke-free rules and to provide better access to support for quitting smoking. This is important because it can help reduce health problems related to smoking, especially in communities that face challenges with tobacco use.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old, currently smoke cigarettes (having smoked at least 100 in your lifetime and 5 or more daily in the past week), and live in subsidized housing for at least the next 12 months. You should also be able to speak one of the following languages: Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin), English, Spanish, or Vietnamese. Participants will receive support and resources to help them quit smoking, and they'll be contributing to important research that could benefit others in similar situations.
