ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well air is distributed in the lungs of men who are undergoing a specific type of surgery called robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy. The researchers will use a special tool called electric impedance tomography to measure how the air moves in the lungs at different breathing rates during mechanical ventilation, which is a method to help patients breathe during surgery.
To participate in this study, you need to be a man between the ages of 65 and 74 who is scheduled for the surgery mentioned above. You also need to be able to understand the information about the study and give your consent to join. While taking part, you can expect to have your breathing monitored to help understand how ventilation works in the lungs during the procedure. It's important to note that individuals with certain lung diseases or cognitive impairments will not be eligible to join the trial.
