ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on developing an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that can automatically detect bleeding during a specific type of surgery called laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy, which involves removing part of the pancreas and surrounding tissues. To create this AI tool, surgeons will review and label videos of surgeries, noting when and where bleeding occurs. These labeled videos will help train the AI to recognize bleeding on its own, and the researchers will later test how well the AI performs in identifying bleeding during surgery.
If you are a patient or a family member, it’s important to know that this trial is currently recruiting participants. To be eligible, the surgical videos must show a complete laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy, including all phases of the operation. However, videos that involve additional procedures, like surgery on a specific vein, are not included. Participants in this study will contribute to improving surgical safety by helping develop technology that could assist surgeons in real-time during operations.
