ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how an educational program can help reduce stress in parents of children with congenital heart defects (CHD) who are scheduled to undergo heart surgery. Congenital heart disease is a serious condition that affects many newborns and can lead to significant stress for their families, even after surgery. The trial aims to compare the mental health of parents who receive extra educational support with those who only get standard care and information pamphlets.
To participate in this study, parents must have a child diagnosed with CHD who is about to have their first elective heart surgery. Parents will be asked to join the study voluntarily, and they should be able to understand local languages like Urdu or Pashto. This research is important because it hopes to provide better support for families, helping them feel more informed and less stressed during a challenging time.
