ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at a new care system designed to help prevent iatrogenic dependency, which is when patients become dependent on others for daily activities due to hospital stays. The study focuses on people aged 70 and older who are hospitalized for at least two days. It compares two groups: one receives standard care, while the other receives special training for caregivers to help keep patients as independent as possible during their hospital stay.

To be eligible for this trial, patients must be hospitalized for at least 48 hours and have a social security system. Importantly, they or their family must agree to participate. However, patients who are at the end of life, have severe limitations in daily activities before hospitalization, or do not wish to participate will not be included. Participants can expect to be part of a supportive environment aimed at maintaining their independence while they receive care. This research could help improve hospital practices for older adults, ensuring they receive the best possible care during their stay.
