ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how to monitor patients with head trauma who have bleeding in the brain but are not experiencing severe symptoms. The goal is to see if we really need to do regular brain scans if the patient’s condition remains stable. Right now, patients often undergo unnecessary scans, which can expose them to extra radiation and also increase healthcare costs. Recent studies suggest that if a patient is not showing any signs of worsening condition, follow-up scans might not be needed, even for those on certain blood-thinning medications.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be adults aged 18 or older who were admitted to the emergency department of the Strasbourg University Hospital in 2017 for monitoring of their brain bleeding. They should also agree to let their data be used for research purposes. If patients qualify and decide to participate, they can expect to be monitored closely and will only have follow-up scans if their condition changes. This trial aims to improve patient care by potentially reducing unnecessary procedures and making monitoring more efficient.
