ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called Flashforward EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to see if it can help reduce anxiety and fear in patients who have an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). An ICD is a device that helps monitor and correct heart rhythm problems. The trial will involve participants filling out questionnaires to assess their anxiety, depression, and quality of life before, during, and after the treatment.
To be eligible for this study, participants must have an ICD and experience anxiety symptoms related to their heart condition. However, those who do not speak Dutch or English well or have serious mental health issues, like thoughts of self-harm or hallucinations, cannot participate. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it starts, those who join can expect to contribute to important research that may help improve care for people with similar health concerns.
