ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how music therapy can help reduce pain, stress, and anxiety for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) when they sit up in a chair. Sitting up can be a challenging procedure for many patients, and the research aims to see if listening to music during this time can make the experience more comfortable and less distressing.
To participate in this study, patients must be admitted to the ICU and able to communicate in Dutch. They should have a specific level of alertness, which is measured by a scale that assesses their agitation or sedation. Unfortunately, patients who are younger than 18, have trouble hearing, are in isolation, or have certain medical devices related to their brain will not be eligible to join. Those who do participate can expect to listen to music while sitting up, and researchers will observe how this affects their overall comfort and feelings during the process. This could be an important step in finding new ways to support patients in critical care.
