ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying different methods to relieve blockages in the small intestine, a condition known as small bowel obstruction. It aims to find out which technique works best for helping patients who have this issue, which can be caused by things like scar tissue from previous surgeries, hernias, or foreign objects like gallstones. The trial is currently looking for participants aged 65 to 74, and both men and women can join if they have specific types of small bowel obstruction.

To be eligible for this trial, participants should have acute intestinal blockages or hernias that are affecting their ability to pass food and waste. However, those with more complicated infections or who have had previous surgeries that involved removing part of the intestine won’t be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive one of the different decompression techniques and to be monitored closely to see how well it works for you. This study is important because it could help improve treatment options for people with small bowel obstructions in the future.
