ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective different forms of Vitamin D supplements are for children in Egypt who have low levels of Vitamin D. Specifically, it will compare two types of Vitamin D—one taken by mouth (oral) and one given through an injection (parenteral). The goal is to see which method works best in raising Vitamin D levels in the blood.
To participate in this study, children aged between 1.5 to 3 years old with confirmed low Vitamin D levels—without signs of a condition called rickets—may be eligible. However, children who have taken Vitamin D or calcium supplements in the past six months, or those with certain health conditions like diabetes, liver or kidney disease, or other serious bone-related issues, will not be able to join. If eligible, participants will receive either the oral or injectable form of Vitamin D and will be monitored to see how their Vitamin D levels change. This trial has not started recruiting participants yet, so interested families will need to check back later for more information.
