ClinConnect Summary
The TransHealthGUIDE trial is studying the impact of a special educational app designed for transgender and gender-diverse young adults aged 18 to 24. This app aims to provide helpful information and support to improve mental health for these individuals and their caregivers. Participants will be randomly assigned to either start using the app right away, along with their usual care, or to wait six months before accessing the app. Throughout the 15-month study, researchers will check in every three months to see how mental health outcomes change for both groups.
To take part in this study, you need to be a gender-diverse individual or a caregiver for one, and live in specific states like California or New York. It's important that participants can read and write in English and have internet access. The study aims to include a diverse group, ensuring that at least half of the participants identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC). By using focus groups and surveys, researchers will continuously assess how well the app works and make changes if needed to support all participants effectively.
