ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to improve how we identify and understand sepsis, a serious condition that can occur when the body has a severe response to an infection. Researchers want to compare the immune responses of patients who have sepsis with those who don't but are showing signs of infection when they arrive at the emergency department. They also aim to find out what immune changes might signal a higher risk of developing sepsis in patients who are initially suspected of having an infection but do not yet have sepsis. Additionally, the trial will explore the long-term effects of sepsis on a person's mental and physical health after they leave the hospital.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be 18 years or older and must come to the emergency department with a suspected infection. They should also show certain signs indicating they might be at risk of serious health issues. It's important to note that participants will need to give their consent to be part of this research. Those who join the study can expect to undergo tests that help researchers better understand sepsis and its effects, ultimately aiming to improve diagnosis and treatment for future patients.
