ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether starting pelvic floor physical therapy (a type of exercise for the muscles that support the bladder) before surgery can help men who are having a procedure called HoLEP (holmium laser enucleation of the prostate) for an enlarged prostate. The goal is to see if this therapy can reduce urinary incontinence, which is the leaking of urine, after the surgery. Usually, pelvic floor therapy starts after the surgery, but this trial is exploring if beginning it beforehand can lead to faster recovery and less time spent dealing with incontinence.
To participate in this trial, you need to be a man aged 18 or older who is scheduled for HoLEP surgery due to issues like difficulty urinating or urinary retention. If you have certain neurological disorders or specific urological conditions, you may not qualify. If you join the study, you will start pelvic floor therapy before your surgery and continue it afterward, with the aim of improving your recovery experience. This trial is currently looking for participants, and it could be a helpful option for men facing these challenges.
