ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a special type of MRI called multiparametric MRI to help doctors better understand how a patient’s liver will function after major liver surgery, known as liver resection. The goal is to see if this advanced imaging can predict how well the liver will perform post-surgery and identify any potential complications, including the risk of liver failure. The study will involve adult patients aged 18 and older who are scheduled for elective liver surgery for any reason, whether benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Participants will need to provide consent and undergo an MRI scan within a week before their surgery.
If you participate in this study, you'll undergo a clinical assessment, routine blood tests, and then the special MRI, which helps provide more detailed information about your liver. The study is currently not recruiting participants, so it may take some time before it starts. It’s important to note that patients who have had previous liver surgery or certain other procedures, or who cannot have an MRI for medical reasons, will not be eligible for this trial.
