ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of giving morphine during gallbladder removal surgery, known as laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The researchers want to find out if patients who receive morphine during their surgery experience less pain afterward and whether it causes more side effects compared to those who do not receive morphine. The trial is currently recruiting participants aged 76 to 70 who are scheduled for this type of surgery, as long as they can provide consent and participate in pain assessments.
If you join this study, you will receive one of two types of anesthesia: one group will receive anesthesia without morphine, and the other group will receive it with morphine. Participants will be monitored for pain levels and any side effects after the surgery. It’s important to note that patients with chronic pain issues, those with a history of substance abuse, or those undergoing emergency surgery cannot take part in this trial. This research aims to improve pain management for patients undergoing gallbladder surgery.
