ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying "theory of mind" (ToM) in children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). Theory of mind refers to the ability to understand that other people have their own thoughts and feelings. The researchers want to learn more about how children with DCD, who may struggle with motor skills and coordination, understand the thoughts of others. The study will involve Dutch-speaking children aged 6 to 12 who have been diagnosed with DCD by a team of specialists.
To participate, children need to live in Flanders or the Netherlands and speak Dutch as their first language. They won’t be included if they have autism or if their family situation is not suitable for the study. During the trial, children will take part in tests that assess both their theory of mind and their motor skills. Parents or guardians will also fill out some online questionnaires to provide more information about the child. The testing sessions will be recorded, but the child’s face will not be shown in the videos. This study is currently looking for participants, and it’s a great opportunity to contribute to understanding DCD better!
