ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different amounts of resistance training (like weightlifting) can affect thinking and physical abilities in people with mild cognitive impairment and mild dementia. The researchers want to see whether doing one set or three sets of resistance training in a single session can improve immediate physical performance. They will also look at the effects of a longer, 8-week training program using the same set amounts to see if it helps improve brain function and other health markers, such as stress levels and heart health.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should have a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment, be able to perform certain physical tasks, and be willing to take part in the study. People with severe dementia, serious health issues that could affect their participation, or certain other conditions may not qualify. Those who join can expect to engage in resistance training sessions and help researchers learn more about how exercise can benefit cognitive health. This study is currently looking for participants of all genders, aged 18 and older.
