ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the relationship between low blood pressure during or shortly after a procedure called endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and the risk of developing a serious infection known as sepsis afterward. ERCP is a common procedure used to treat problems in the bile ducts and pancreas, but sometimes it can lead to complications like infections. The researchers want to find out if having low blood pressure during or right after the procedure is linked to a higher chance of getting sepsis.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult over 18 years old who is having an ERCP for a condition called obstructive jaundice. You will also need to give your written consent to join. However, if you already have sepsis before the procedure or if you are pregnant, you won’t be eligible to participate. If you join the study, you will help researchers understand these risks better, potentially improving safety for future patients undergoing ERCP.
