ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a specific test called hand acceleration time (HAT) before and after creating an arteriovenous fistula (AVF), which is a connection made between an artery and a vein for patients who need hemodialysis. The main goal is to see if changes in HAT can help predict problems that may occur in the blood flow after the AVF is created. Researchers also want to check how many patients experience issues related to this procedure, the success of the AVF after six months, and any complications that might arise during that time.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult (18 years or older) who is a candidate for having an AVF created for hemodialysis. Both men and women can join, as long as they understand the study and agree to participate by signing a consent form. If you decide to join, you can expect to undergo HAT assessments at different points, and your health will be monitored for any issues related to the AVF. This trial is currently looking for volunteers, so it’s a great opportunity to contribute to important research that could help improve care for future patients.
