ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the effectiveness of two types of exercises—clinical and home-based Schroth exercises—for young people with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS). AIS is a condition where the spine curves abnormally, and this study aims to see if these exercises, combined with wearing a brace, can help improve the spinal curvature and balance in adolescents aged 10 to 18 who have a specific range of spinal curve severity.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be diagnosed with AIS and have a spinal curve (measured by Cobb angles) between 20 and 45 degrees. They should also be currently receiving brace treatment. Unfortunately, individuals with other specific spine conditions, past spine surgeries, or serious heart and lung issues won't be eligible. If you or your child participate, expect to engage in exercises that are designed to help improve balance and posture, and you'll be closely monitored throughout the study. This research aims to provide more information on the benefits of combining these exercises with brace treatment for better outcomes in managing scoliosis.
