ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how giving pregnant women a choice in their nutrition and exercise plans can help them stick to those plans and maintain a healthy weight during pregnancy. The researchers want to find out if allowing women to choose how and when to introduce nutrition and exercise components makes it easier for them to follow the program compared to a standard approach where the interventions are assigned. Participants will be divided into three groups: one group will start both nutrition and exercise right away, while the other two groups will introduce these components at different times. The study will follow participants until they give birth and check on their health at several points after delivery.

To participate in this trial, women need to be between 12 to 18 weeks pregnant and expecting one baby. They also need to pass a health screening to ensure they can safely exercise. Unfortunately, women with serious health issues, like uncontrolled high blood pressure or diabetes, and those who can’t walk will not be eligible. Participants can expect to receive support for their nutrition and exercise routines and will be monitored to see how these choices impact their pregnancy health. This study aims to make pregnancy healthier for women by finding better ways to encourage them to stay active and eat well.
